Creating Success From a Musical Passion: Josh Bishop, AKA COBRA.
Josh Bishop, better known by COBRA., began producing music after high school graduation at the age of 18. He began by posting his content on YouTube as “type beats” and later gained traction morphing dark ambient guitars over trap beats. This led to an explosion of over 97k subscribers and 10s of millions of views.
COBRA. began traveling to New York to network and connect with other artists and producers. It was in New York where he met the artist Shaker: a rising artist COBRA. now works with regularly. COBRA. describes his own music as “emotional, passionate, and interesting” and stated, “Expect to hear a bunch of new music with production from COBRA. in the coming months and into next year. Shaker and I have a lot of new styled stuff that mixes our older more ambient/dark sound with some new pop/funk style stuff as well… also have a lot of new stuff coming out with remixes and some new originals, so be on the lookout for that.”
Finally, COBRA. related in an interview that, “I just want people to feel something when they listen to my music. Whether it’s happy, sad, energetic or just some music to vibe to. I think giving someone an emotional attachment to a song keeps the listener coming back time after time”.
