John B aka Johnny Be Someone

John B aka JohnnyBeSomeone is a successful social media and business entrepreneur. Currently, he holds a position for the profound jewelry company, Johnny Dang & Co. as a Social Media/Sales Director. Check out our interview with him below.

— Interview —

What exactly do you do for a career?

“Present day 2020, either you are up to speed with joining the social media movement, or you are still expecting walk-ins at your business. I chose to help small and larger businesses expand themselves in every way possible using the World Wide Web as a medium for growth; mainly social media.”

“I have created for myself a self-endowed position, and have always found a spot for myself to grow within. My understanding of ways to open new revenue streams for businesses has always been found valuable. Monetizing a web presence most accurately describes my career and requires wearing many different hats. From the terms of a “brick and mortar” business, I strategize new ways to grow sales and traffic.”

“When the opportunity arose at Johnny Dang & Co to join his social media team, I was ready to take my skill set to the professional level. Johnny’s social media consists of his YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. More recently I have been focusing on sales and have been flying out to meet clients to sell grills, custom pieces, and chains; this includes me doing molds for customers and figuring out what jewelry fits their needs the most.”

What was the process for you to find what you wanted to do?

“My career began as soon as I chose to chase my dreams and focus on my passions. I found a pleasure in my passion, growing businesses. The years I spent going to college in San Diego, CA studying Social Sciences poised me to understand audiences for any business.”

“To find my career, I had to first grow as a man and partner in several different businesses. Moving from one business to the next was always a learning experience. I just always trusted the process of my will and knew there was something for me waking up the every day”

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

“I find rewards within my career to be the gains a business recognizes from my guaranteed work. Being confident in one’s work is really a sales pitch, proof of process by means of newly established revenue is the true recognition. A guaranteed process from a business standpoint requires action from both parties, investment and execution. Whether it is a financial investment or time spent in nurturing a project, both parties must actively participate to make thing a work at my guaranteed level.”

“Of course, it is always awesome when high profile artists or celebs come through the door of Johnny Dang & Co. Recently we have had Jeff Goldblum come to shoot an episode of his “The World According To Jeff Goldblum” where he interviews Johnny Dang and got a grill himself. We also have had Vice do a 5 part series on Johnny Dang & Co called the “House of Dang” aired via YouTube. Drake, DaBaby, Trippie Redd and more shop with us frequently. Easily the most rewarding thing in my position is having my boss appreciate the hard work I put in with those high profile clients.”

“The rewards I find in my career are the rewards I bring to businesses when their revenue and or traffic increases. Online marketing, when done properly, can bring value in numerous ways and really depends on how the business wants to invest/execute their time and money with my skill set.”

What is your favorite quality about yourself and who would you thank for those qualities?

“I would say I am very helpful, honest, driven, hardworking and creative. My father growing up taught me to be the man that I am today. I am very blessed to have had such an amazing of a father to teach me so much of what I know today. I lost my father last year on May 7th to terminal pancreatic cancer. I wish I would be able to tell him how thankful I am and show him where I am at in my life. His organizational and driven mindset were some huge assets I remember every day to apply to my own life.”

What is your favorite hobby?

“Favorite hobby, aside from working, would be to go on nature hikes and explore new trails. I love to especially take my dog to new parks or areas. I very much enjoy going on adventures with my lovely girlfriend and unraveling what this world truly has to offer behind my passions.”

What is your greatest success so far?

“My greatest success I would have to say would consist of things that I have recently accomplished in the past year. This would be coming on board with Johnny Dang & Co to grow and monetize his social media platforms. With the help of a couple other people in the social media department, we have further grown the revenue behind Johnny Dang’s Facebook and Youtube. This success took a lot of work, hours, patience and content that needed to be either added, revised or deleted. Being a part of this success has been a huge accomplishment. I am currently working to monetize all of Paul Wall’s and Jdawg’s social media platforms as well.”

Where did you grow up?

“I grew up in the Great State of Texas. I was born and raised in Houston. I lived a majority of my life in Houston, however, I ended up moving around a lot. My father moved out to Whitefish, Montana later on in my life and I have family in La Jolla, California. I did not waste my time living in California, that is for sure, there was so much to do and many lessons to be learned. You could surf in the morning in Santa Cruz and then drive to the mountains to in Lake Tahoe to ski all evening. My mother lives in Austin. Let’s just say I have lived in quite a fair amount of places due to my family moving and living all over.”

What are some of the challenges you faced along the way?

“Some challenges that I face are that I am a bit hothead, particularly how I manage things. I am very particular how I want things done to stay true to the core of a business manifest. This can frustrate coworkers and even my girlfriend at times, but in the end it proves my best intentions toward the core of a business. Some of these things can become a challenge for me because they typically create conflict with situations or sometimes people.”

What does it take to be a successful entrepreneur?

“Sacrifice, motivation, time management, creativity and determination. I believe if you are not willing to do these things you won’t be able to push yourself to the next level which ultimately will lead you to the next success in your journey.”

Where do you see yourself in the next five years?

“I wish I could see what my future would look like in the next 5 years. I think everyone has curiosity of what their future holds for them. In five years I see myself with great success, running a business, financially stable, continuing to help others grow their business, and becoming closer to my family.”
